GOVT. ITI FOR WOMEN, CHENGANNUR

BACK GROUND DETAILS :

ITI for Women, Chengannur was established in 1990, under World Bank Scheme in the General  ITI campus and shifted to the present building in 1991. It is located at the heart of Chengannur Municipality,  Alappuzha Dstrict Kerala State. It is situated hardly 3kms away from Chengannur Railway Station.    The institute was set up with a view to uplift the women of Central Travancore by imparting skill development training  in various areas and thereby empowering the women.

Training Domain Activities:

The NCVT Courses offered by the institute are

1. Computer Operator and Programming Assistant  NCVT  Non Engineering Trade of one year duration, Entry qualification is plus 2, Syllabus covers Fundamentals, MS Office, VBA, Javascript etc.

2.Electronics Mechanic. NCVT Engineering Two year Trade, Entry Qualifications is 10^th Pass. Course covers Basic Electronics and

3.Stenography (English) NCVT One Year Non Engineering Trade, Entry qualification is plus 2, The training offers a Speed of 80 WPM in dictation taking and Typing Speed equivalent to KGET Lower.

4. SURVEYOR:  A Two Year Engineering Trade with varioius jop opportunities in Surveyor Field.

6. COMPUTER HARDWARE AND NETWORK MAINTENANCE : A one year Computer Networking Non Engineering Trade

7. DRESS MAKING : A one year non engineering trade covering latest sewing and fashion technology areas

The training is done to meet the current manpower requirements of the industry.  We also ensure the practice of modern equipments and career guidance.  The Practical area is more concentrated and the trainees are given freedom to interact with the faculties even after leaving the institute for updating their knowledge.
